Taking an Approach
Create your First Essay – due Thursday October 27
Construct an essay that contribute to the conversation between our assigned texts. Consider your essay as an extension of what we have read. In doing so, you will be forwarding certain ideas and countering others. You are designing a place for further conversation. Ask yourself after reading these texts, what else could be said? In other words, why do these assigned texts matter, and what is the next step in the conversation? As you construct your contribution, ask yourself, so what? Why? How?
Essay requirements
Essay must be typed, double spaced, size 12 font, and cited MLA format
Length – 3-5 pages
Essay is due on Oct. 27th. This gives you a week to work on this. Tuesday, the 25th will be writing workshop day, use the class to work on essay, get help from me, work with peers on editing, etc. Do not turn in a first draft, hot off the computer. I can tell when the ink is wet!!!
You must use at least four of the texts you have read from above sequence. All must be cited properly. On my wiki, you will find Owl Purdue Writing Lab if you have citation questions.
No five paragraph essays, no “due to “ or “because.” Make me barf! What I should see is “I.” This is your writing project now; I care about what YOU think!
